Charlie Care

Terms

What you are agreeing to when you apply, and where this document stands today.

This is an interim notice, not the final Terms of Use. Charlie Care's Terms, and the volunteer conduct and confidentiality agreement that goes with them, are being prepared with legal counsel and reviewed by the Clinical Advisory Board. They will replace this page before Charlie Care connects anyone to a live conversation with a volunteer. This page exists so nobody is asked to agree to something that does not load.

What applying means right now

Applying registers your interest in volunteering. It does not certify you and it does not place you in front of anyone in crisis. Every applicant is interviewed and trained, and Charlie Care decides who is certified.

What volunteers will be asked to agree to

Before anyone is certified, they will sign the full conduct and confidentiality agreement. In outline, a Charlie Care volunteer is a trained peer, not a clinician. That means:

The binding wording is counsel's, not this summary's.

Charlie Care is not an emergency service

The live queue is not armed and nobody should wait on it. If you or someone else is in danger:
